Silvia Di Sopra – Head Chef

We don’t know, in all honesty, if we have to consider Elidor’s attendance at the Good Food Show to be another one of Silvia’s crazy ideas, or simply an extreme demonstration of her impulsive nature. In any case, this is a great adventure, and we just can’t wait for it to start!

After months spent painting Elidor’s stall and getting everything organised for the event, Silvia has spent several weeks limbering up for the bake off of her life: she’s ready to bake, and it’s hard too keep her still.

We will soon start receiving our ingredients:  a thousand eggs, kilograms and kilograms of butter, and hundreds of litres of cream, milk and crème fraiche,  which will be delivered directly from the Local Farm we use as our dairy supplier. Then 60 kilograms of apples, 20 kilograms of lemons, boxes and boxes of strawberries and wild berries, more than 80 kilograms of Belgian Chocolate, 90 kilograms of sugar, flour and nuts.

That’s right, Elidor’s crack baking team, which consists solely of Silvia, will be baking and hand-decorating 1,600 slices of luxurious cake over four days, while her merry band of helpers will be setting up shop at the Good Food Show, proudly sharing our creations with the kind, cultured foodies of Birmingham.
